    Windshield Date Code

Hello I am in the process of replacing my aftermarket windshield. My original side glass windows are as followed.. I would like to install the correct dated windshield. Can some one tell me the format I should have for my tinted windshield? I checked the archives and manual and couldn't find the format. Thanks for your help!!
    Side windows....

    Soft-Ray
    Safet LOF Plate
    AS2 YJ
    Solid Tempered

    Re: Windshield Date Code

My perspective is C3 but your application may differ. The codes suggest a windshield manufactured in October of 1978. What's confusing is the M54...M24 is the DOT code for a Corvette Coupe windshield...but I'm not showing an M54 code.

If the game is what question would ask on the basis of these codes, my question would be "what year is this Corvette?" Recheck your code...it may be a 24 or even an M52 for a Corvette Convertible hard top window...but than we did not make convertibles in 78!

These codes are from my 66 convert built in November of 65. I am confused on that lay out of the windshield. Thanks

        Re: Windshield Date Code

Your side glass information is correct for October of 65. So, if you're looking to replace your windshield you would want a date range of 1 to 6 months prior to November (however, you would get credit for up to a year prior).

        Something like:

        Shaded
        Soft-Ray
        Safety Plate
ASI LOF YJ (Oct, 65), AJ (Sept), etc.
        Laminated
        M4

        Hope this helps,
        Rob

Thanks Rob that was what I was looking for. What does the m4 and m54 at the bottome mean? THanks

            Re: Windshield Date Code

That's a code for window type, like convertible, coupe, side rear and in later years glass t-tops. So your M54 must be for windshield

              Ryan -

If you buy your new windshield from OEM Glass, they'll take care of what you need for the logo and date; just tell them what it's for and when it was built, and they'll do the rest.
