    sending unit pipe plug

I am trying to find a supplies for the 1/2" pipe plug that goes i the head of my 69 BB iron head to plug the unused hole for the sending unit. It has a 3/8 square socket head. Someone at sometimt tried to get it out and chewed it up pretty bad. Thanks Brad

if the head is still on the car leave it alone---it is probably froze to the point it will need to be drilled out which would be easiest on a work bench---if the plug is out try a napa store they might have to order it---good luck

          I think it's 14090911

If you buy 12495501 for $25 from Scoggin Dickey or other dealer, not only do you get the correct water jacket square drive pipe plugs, but also the BB oil gallery plugs with the correct square 1/4" drive and the correct style water jacket Welch plugs that have NO markings stamped into them and are brass to boot!

            Mark------

I show that a GM #14090911 is an EXTERNAL square head pipe plug of 3/8-18 thread size (NPT) and steel material. I'll bet if you order one you'll get exactly the same plug you can purchase in the plumbing department of a hardware store.

I have the 5501 kit in hand

I ordered the above noted kit that is to include two of these plugs and in my kit at least, it is the correct internal square drive plug. The freeze plugs are also the correct style with NO printing (but brass).

                Mark------

In that case, the plugs supplied with the kit are not the advertised part number of 14090911. Unless the specs for the part have changed drastically or GM made a mistake, the 14090911 is an EXTERNAL square head plug of the size I described previously.
