    '67 HOOD PANEL SEPARATION

My hood outer panel has separated from the inner frame at 'two joint' sections on the passenger side. The result is a little flex when I polish & wax the hood in that particular area. Can I leave it as is, or should it be re-glued?? I would prefer not touching the car since it's fully restored. Thanks!

Your choice. I would reglue or bond. This can be done without damaging anything.

Thanks Wayne. If I wish to tackle it myself, how do I re-glue. What product should I use? Can I simply apply the glue from the outer edges of the bonding joint area? Thanks; David

            David,

DO NOT use bonding adhesive for this repair. Bonding adhesive gets very hot while curing and will blister the paint on the top (finished) side of the hood.

            Hope this helps.

            Mark
