NCRS works in strange and mysterious ways. You have to remember that you are dealing with a group who want to ride around on tire designs from 50 years ago and argue about the shade and application of the black that hits the mufflers.
I agree with Michael Hanson that if it is opened to buying and selling in our present format, it will become nonsense quickly. However, there is far too much off-topic chatter for anyone to be pulling messages. But I'm not surprised it happens.
One look at Corvette Forum tells you that people are not content to post "FS - 1963 Corvette" or "WTB - 1966 coupe, BB perferred". They have to post comments, do a lot of "TTT" to get it back up, and repeat the ad a dozen times. As such, there are hundreds of ads in no particular order on CF that make the search tool a necessity, not a luxury.
I also stand with Joe Lucia on keeping this one a more single DB type of board. This way, you see it all. On CF, there are so many separate discussions areas, you miss a lot of good stuff.
Should it be done? Well, we need one, but this topic has been bumped around for several years.
Will it be done? I doubt it, not until almost everyone with a number lower than 12,000 dies off. I think there are many in NCRS who look at this as an embarrassment, rather than an asset. Comments from some officers and team leaders seem to support that notion.
