Vacuum Line Preservation

Most of the vacuum lines in my engine compartment are in pretty good condition. Some of them I have to replace because they have cracks in them or in one instance crushed for a long period of time.

Any recommendations for what I can put on the original vacuum lines to clean them and then to preserve them and keep them from drying out.

Just my opinion and experience: Citrus Goo Gone, available at drugstores, discount chains, supermarkets, does a great job of cleaning and rejuvenating plastic and rubber pieces. I used it to clean a gas tank filler neck "bowl" that I thought was beyond hope -- it came out black, smooth, flexible.

A wipe down with liberal application of WD40 gets the job done pretty well!

There is a product C6 owners swear by for rubber and plastic...you can use it for light cleaning, and has UV protection built in (not too important under the hood ). It's called 303 Aerospace Protective Coating".
