    C2 Side Exhaust

I have a couple of questions regarding side exhaust that I am addded to my 66 coupe.
    1. Relative to the lower bird cage cutouts for the mounting clips, were the cutouts made before or after the cage was zinc chromated.
    2. The repo rocker moldings, not the side pipe covers, that I am installing have an approximate 1/2 "tab" bent from the face to behind the two ends of the panel below where the mounting screws go. These tabs keep the molding from mounting flush with the fiberglass that it mounts to. It looks to high. Should I rebend these tabs to a sharper angle, grind them off or just leave 'em. Are the repos different from the originals in this area?

Any advice, or pictures, would be deeply appreciated. Thanks.

    Bob -

The rectangular notches in the sill reinforcement flange were punched prior to welding it to the rest of the birdcage, before it was painted.
