While looking for the Restorer article on the C2-65 fuel injection unit latest serial numbers I came across an article that you may be interested in. It's titled The Development of Corvette High Performance options and the cars that made it possible....Part One. BTW I looked for part two and couldn't find it in my collection. Anyway, it was written by David Bartush in Volume Eleven Number Four in the Spring of 1985.
Another article I found that you might be interested in was also written by David Bartush in V 13, #1 summer of 86 on Rollbars.I bet you have that issue, because you wrote an article on your 1954.

Art..thanks for the post. I will recheck those old issues of the restorer. I do remember Bartush writing some great arucles on the early race cars and also about Frank Burrell.

I also remember writing the article about my old 54.

The picture below was taken at the old Spirit of St.Louis airport..that a few years later was flooded with 10 feet of water during the St.Louis floods. I am told that property has now been rebuilt with high price homes and shopping centers.

That old red 54 was a beauty.

Sorry for the scratched up old picture...after I finished restoring it..I took it to a Corvette /Chevy show in Wood River, Illlinois. I took all 5 top awards and sold the car to the dealer that put on the show.. I am pretty sure the car is still there 20 years later.

Art..did you see Roll Bars are For Sissy's by David Bartush in Vol.13 #1 which includes an engineering note from Frank Burrell to the experimental shop to make up a roll bar...for car # 6913 5/11/1956..WO#177725-56..on shop order # 11164

Art..I must be slipping..afterwards I realized I was reading the same issue. Did you find part 2 of the Bartush report?
