Just want to refresh everyone's memory about the cookies.

Since the board is now on a different server everyone will have to reset their cookies before they start to work again. The first time that you post a message or a response to a message your cookies will be set. You will have to go away for a while 30 minutes or so and come back for the cookie to start working. This also means that you will have to reset cookies from both home and work, and anywhere else that you regularly visit from.

about the new server....is it dedicated for our use only or is it shared with other web sites? Nice to get the old look back.

The server that we are on now is called a virtual server. It is shared with about 80 other accounts. The server at CommuniTech was a virtual domain that was shared with as many as 3,000 other accounts.

You have to realize that these are Sun Sparc Stations that are fully loaded. They cost about $30,000 each. Even sharing these servers provides more power than one Pentium III that was loaded to the gills.

The only way we will know if this new host is better is to try them out. They told me that we would run on this package with no problems. That would be more reassuring if CommuniTech had not told me the same thing, three months ago. Only time will tell.
