    C1 Steering Wheel Restoration Question

    Does anyone have any advice on restoration of a 57 steering wheel? How good can an original wheel be restored and how well would it last? Mine has some minor cracks in it and I was curious if those would re-appear after restoration.

    Does anyone know some good restorers to talk with and what type of money would I be looking at?

          Ashley,
          A fellow Michigan NCRS member does restoration work on C1 steering wheels and they looked pretty good to me. His name is Richard Dunham and his email is : dunco1959@sbcglobal.net.

              Through a recommendation from John Hinckley I contacted Richard Dunham in Haslett, MI to have my '56 beige steeriing wheel restored. All I can say is he and his work are top notch in every way. I believe it was around $400 for a total restoration from Richard. I have looked everywhere (but the right place) for his phone number and can't seem to find it. Maybe John can chime in with it. I would guess that you can find him through using the white pages search.
