1) Can you help me with the Birthdate of a 1969 Corvette, the last digits of the serial number are: 729167
2) I have a web site that gives birthdates. It covers the years of 53-68 and 74-82. Is there a web site that some one can provide me for all C1, C2 and C3's?
David
You don't need a birthday site for early C3 Corvettes, since all the early C3 bodies were built at St. Louis. Bowling Green built Corvettes may be different – I don’t know and I don't want to go there. For the St. Louid built C3s – the trim tag has a build date on it -- a letter and two numbers right after the word CHEVROLET. The month for the start of the model year (A) differs for some years, but 1969 was A = August, 1968. The 1969 model year went up to Q = December 1969 -- a very long model year.
You can calculate the "birthday" from that date on the trim tag. Give about two days after that date for the completed car to roll off the assembly line -- if that point is your definition of the "birthday." Be aware others may have a different definition, which makes the on-line birthday calculators suspect -- or at least makes all our efforts, including this one, approximations.
Your Corvette should show N10 or N11 (September 1969) on the trim tag. I would appreciate knowing which it shows.
