3782870 block dates

I know that the casting number of the 3782870 block is at the rear on the drivers side, and the date code is at the rear on the passenger side. Date code "K211" means 11/21 on the first shift - right? But how tell what year the block was cast? They were made starting in 61 clear thru sometime in 64.

K211 is the 21st day of the K (novenmber) month of 1961 in yoiur example. The last date in the sequence is the rear for Saginaw cast blocks. T tonawanda casting from the same day would read K2161.
