I Have a 1957 operations manual that is marked as fourth edition. It is interesting to me that there would be 4 editions when the production for 1957 was relatively low. I wonder if there are differences between it and the prior 3 editions. It does not have a date as does say the 1967 second edition which is marked as April 1967 or the 1967 first edition which is marked August 1966. Does anybody know the story on why so many editions in 1957 (was the 4th the final?)?

Re: 57 Owner's Manual
Have heard discussion that the first and second editions of the Owner's Manual were for '56's, leaving the third and fourth editions for '57's. Personally, I've only seen the third and fourth editions for '57. Lots of fourth's, very few thirds. The only third edition I've seen had the FI information on a stapled page, whereas in the fourth edition it's printed. There were some very early reproduction printings that did not have a version edition no. on them.

Re: 57 Owner's Manual
Interesting response Gary. I am trying to put together a complete collection of C1 and C2 owner/operator manuals including all editions of each year.- Top

Re: 57 Owner's Manual beware of Repro's
Richard, that's a challenge to do. Becareful, there are alot of reproductions out there. I'm not an expert and have all of the C1's, but have bought repros that I thought were originals. They looked really that good. On C1's, you almost need an original to compare with. Cover colors might vary slightly, headlights might be frosty, pictures a little darker or details not sharp enough, etc. Good luck, Gary....Shopping online for all your Home/Work/Auto needs?
