Re: All The More Reason Why The.........

Reading this thread sure makes me never want to have my 68 judged especially since I just spent 10 years restoring it to what I thougth were NCRS standards.
Shouldn't this whole issue and the related allegations have been discussed privately rather than here on a public forum?

    On the contrary-

open discussion on this issue brings to light how many people just don't 'get' what the Flight Judging awards and the judging system are all about.

People that hang out on the CF or CAC boards could be forgiven for believing all the inaccurate BS that floats around cyberspace on the subject, a forum like this presents an opportunity to clarify.

It's a shame that there's so many people that abuse the system solely for personal gain.

There's a parallel discussion going on over at the VH board for those that are interested.

      Kurt,

I didn't want any public discussion, and if you look at my previous post you'll see that. I was looking for some "off-line" responses, opinions, and possibly similar situations that some of you have found yourselves in.
Now I'm defending myself for trying to get some help with an improper action on the part of an NCRS member.

Don't worry about your '68. It is probably a beautiful restoration, and you deserve recognition and credit for your work. Any large organization will have large variations in the character of its membership. The NCRS is certainly an organization of purists. I think that I can safely say that the overwhelming majority of NCRS members are honest, and have no hidden agenda.

Write A Letter To Roy Sinor...

It's a serious allegation...and it probably needs more than an accusation.

If you have any reasoning why you think this happened, I would write it in a letter to Roy...He's really the one ultimately responsibile for the integrity of NCRS judging. His reputation is at stake more than the rest of us, and airing it out here isn't going to help your case. If Roy has good reason to believe something hinky happened, Roy will act appropriately.

Sometimes, doing the right thing is going to get you a lot of heat in the short term until its determined you are right...or, if not right, you will pay a price. Whistle blowing has always been a risky job, but somebody has to do it.

Re: Write A Letter To Roy Sinor...

Thanks for staying with me, Chuck. I'm very upset by this, and Roy was my first choice. I only want to contact someone who is honest, and I don't think that there 's anybody more so than Roy.

I have a relatively "worthless" 1985 Corvette(98.9% Top Flight, Kissimmee Regional 2006, PV Award Marlborough MA, 2006).

I feel terrible about this whole thing-it makes me sick at heart. I can say, fer sure, that the judging on my (relatively worthless) C4 has been honest, so far. I dunno what will be the case in Marlborough next year (if I decide to bring her).

Contact Roy Sinor &/or Gilbert Scrivner

Roy Sinor and/or NCRS President Gilbert Scrivner should be the first contact about any and all misuse/abuse of the NCRS Judging system. In over 25 years I've only seen one abuse of a Master Judge trying to sell parts to an owner of a Flight Judged Corvette during Flight Judging. That individual was dealt with severely. As we live in a world of anything goes to win or make money where alot of morales are valued by dollar signs, abuse of the NCRS Judging system for profit is bound to happen. It's every NCRS members obligation to alert NCRS officials when this occurs. Please contact Roy with your concerns. Gary....
