    1967 hood release

I went to poen my hood today and the cable either broke or came unhooked. How do I get the hood open?

from under neath on the drivers side---look for a lever just above and inboard of the double front wire harness connectors---push leaver towards rear of car---it should open the hood, at least on the driver side unless by some miracle you broke the cross over cable to the pass. side at the same time which i doubt---good lusk

I've used the grip side of a golf club(I think it was a 9 iron) to reach the latchfrom underneath...worked well.

Did you have steel or graphite shafts on that 9 iron?

Re: Should have used the driver

This is long but it worked, I have a A/C car. If it is the passenger side, my friend and I had the little set screw come loose. Luckly the drivers side did not lock when he pushed it down. We lifted on the drivers side rear corner after letting it set in the hot NM. sun till mid afternoon. We took a rubber mallet wraped it in a towel and as I lifted on the rear drivers side hood he slid the mallet in, almost halfway. then he drove it in the garage and got a penlight flashlight and the longest thin blade screwdriver I had ever seen. he had me rap the end of the screwdriver when he got it aligned. I was sure the hood would crack in half. Aa couple of hits and open. He said they did it at the dealership all the time.Ah these old timers. D/
