I know - this is the restorer's society, but this is where the knowledge is. I just had to have road-race headers, so I have mounted a beautiful set of Stahl sidepipe headers in the frame and can see that that the headers will not clear the factory AC box. I would really prefer not to cut the factory AC system. Jere Stahl told me that with a dimensional mockup he may be able to modify the No. 8 tube to clear the factory AC box.
My body is 200 miles away making a physical mockup inconvenient (at the least); I wonder if someone with AC car or related experience could give me some dimensions (relative to the cylinder head) and/or photos that I could send to Stahl with the header for modification.
I have taken some pictures of the header tube at No. 8 and have posted them at http://home.att.net/~wlames/wsb/html...tos.html-.html Please note the Stahl adapter flange is almost 1/2" thick....
Any help or suggestions appreciated.
Thanks
Larry
