    What fuel additive...

should I use in my 11:1 compression 350 engine. I've seen a homebrew toluene mixture, but didn't want to just dive in. I'm sure this has been asked before, but the archives aren't back up yet. I'm not looking for enhanced performance, just to smooth out the knock (enhanced performance would be nice though)

I HAVE USED THIS FUEL ADDITIVE W/OUT ANY KNOCKS AND RAN WELL OVER 30 DEGREES ADVANCE ON AN LT-1 IN THE EARLY 90'S WHEN STONE OIL SOLD THE SAME STUFF CALLED LEAD SUPREME 130. I FOUND IT IN MUSCLE CAR MAGIZINE BACK THEN AND BOUGHT OUT OF GEORGIA. FOUND OUT THEY ARE OUT OF BUSINIESS AND THEIR SUPPLIER IS STILL IN BUSINESS,KEMCO FUEL,801-768-4408. ALSO ANOTHER OUTFIT IN THE DRIVELINE THAT SELLS THE SAME STUFF. I AM FORUNATE I HAVE ACCESS TO SUNOCO 130 RIGHT NOW. WHEN THAT DRIES UP, I'LL CALL KEMCO.CALL AND INQUIRE,IT CAN'T HURT AND MAY MAKE YOU A HAPPY CUSTOMER.grr#33570

I've seen people drop two mothballs in each full tank of gas. So far no moths have appeared! You should be thinking about REMOVING the additives that the gas companies put in: i.e., aeromatics mainly. Why not just buy a barrell of turbo blue and keep it away from cigar smokers? Another option is landing at a nearby airport for avgas.

      Varooom!

        Kemco 0il/Lead Supreme 130

Gerry, The Kemco site is listed below. Great product! I have used it for years since it was available from Stone in Georgia. 110LL av-gas also works well, but the small containers of LS130 are great for long trips. WB

Bill, you street racing, high octaning winning at all means cat. We are on the the same wave lenght.Your just like me.Read my post. I thank you for mentioning Stone oil products from the great state of Georgia (got a lotto ticket yet?). I've had guys bad mouth the lead supreme 130 but wonder if they really used it. You and I know it gets with the program and you can advance all you want w/out any pinging. Glad to see I have another street pounder that is on my side. Thanks for the follow up. At present I have for the last few years been using by luck sunoco 130 110 octane locallly. But when that dries up I'll go back to Kemco. I will admit I did Over dose my mixtures but you know a little to much of a good thing never hurts. Advantages help. Straight octane booster never got rid of any pinging as you I well know. GRR,

Now you are getting the idea where I got my name. My matching numbers SB (slightly messaged!) 65 Coupe eats BB cars(and anything with a back seat) for breakfast when I overdose on Lead Supreme. We both know the wonderful thrills it induces. Spread the goood word, but don't tell the competition!

I have some Lead Supreme 130 stored in my garage, in the original cans, since the early 1990's that I purchased from the Stone Oil Company. Does anybody know what the shelf life is for this prodcut and is it still safe to use? Also, is Lead Supreme 130 the same type of prodcut as that being sold in the DriveLine under the name Max Lead? Thanks.

                  John,

According to Kemco, the shelf life of Lead Supreme is about 10 years in unopened containers if stored in a stable environment. If the storage area is subject to extreme temperature changes, condensation may contaminate the product. Also check for rusting cans after such a long time. Kemco also makes the Max Lead product which has the same amount of lead but is mixed in kerosene! The octane boosting potential of LS 130, which is also sold in Driveline,is DOUBLE that of Max Lead. My suggestion is to check your stockpile and use it up. It is great stuff! For more info, go to site listed or e-mail me directly. Enjoy the extra performance and protection!
