    66 engine codes

    My buddy just purchased a 66 mosport green roadster, it got the HT code L79 engine. My question, it's also has power steering does the engine code change for power steering? Thanks in advance. Sincerely Brian

    According to the Corvette Black Book the 327/350 L79 with manual transmission and power steering would have the HP code. The HT is for the 327/350 with manual transmission. Perhaps someone added the power steering or did not stamp the engine correctly.

      Thanks Jim, thats what I thought but wanted to make sure I wasn't wrong. I think his car has the original motor, someone add the power steering in my opinion.

          I researched this myself some time back. I found the information that Mark responded with correct as well...no change in the HT code with p.s.

            Let me get this correct, his car can have the HT code and power steering and is correct?

              Brian,

              That is my understanding. I guess it's because the L79 did not require an additional crankshaft mounted pulley for the p.s. as did the 300HP engine.
