I just purchased a 1969 corvette 427 390hp. As you can imanage not every thing is perfect. The trans and clutch work great, but it it does have a hurst shifter. The problem is finding reverse gear to get the key out of the ignition. You really have to search for just the right sweet spot to get it into reverse. Is there an adjustment on the linkage that could be made to make easier to find reverse, any other ideas. Thanks.

Re: 1969 reverse lockout.
Rick, there is a linkage adjustment procedure spelled out in the chassis service manual. This would be the same in most any chassis service manual from 1964 to 1981. I do not have one handy right now to spell out the procedureDick Whittington- Top

Rick
With a hurst shifter you need to set it up about the same as an original but you need to know what tool it takes to center the linkage for adjustment. I'm thinking it could be a round dowel. Serch the web for hurst shifters.
