Can anyone recommend a good water pump rebuilder? Someone in New Jersey woulds be nice but I can certainly send it off for rebuilding as well.

I and many others on this board have used Arthur Gould in Ft. Salonga (Long Island) NY with great satisfaction. He charged $65 for the rebuild and provided quick turn around. Call his shop at 631-754-5010. Mike

Joel,

Regardless of who you have rebuild it, do yourself a favor and check that the bolts holding the back plate on are tight before you install the pump. I installed a rebuilt pump on my car, only to find out the rebuilder forgot to tighten them. It leaked badly and had to be removed to tighten the bolts. ...May not happen often, but thought I'd pass it on...

My favorite waterpump rebuilder is Joe Lucia. However, he ONLY rebuilds waterpumps for use by Joe Lucia. No exceptions. Ever! So, I heartly recommend Arthur Gould or Bill Mock. They have extensive waterpump rebuilding experience. In fact, WAY, WAY more than Joe Lucia. You can't go wrong with either of them.

I am with you on this issue. I have to justify having this hydraulic press, and rebuilding water pumps is not exactly rocket science.
