Flexplate finish

What would the finish be for a '55 Powerglide flexplate? Cad, raw steel or paint? If paint, what color?

I have an NOS from parts that is raw steel. I would guess it was the same originally installed.

I've never seen an original Powerglide flexplate that was anything other than bare steel----no plating, no painting.
