For a Mar 64 FI with TI stampings are
Alternator is 1100660 – 42A a valid 64 number for FI and TI
3K3 12V NEG - is an October 3, 1963 build date. The red diodes are 380 3107 466 while the black are 428 3109 466, a date of Oct 1963.
The rear square plug is gray and aligns with the alternator mounting boss as described under the 63 year. It has the hole and the six rectangular openings as late 63 units have.
So this data says it’s a 63 unit, however
Front Fan/Pully – Fan is black with the 4 larger blades, pulley is zincad and held by washer and large nut of zincad. This appears to be as expected for a 1964.
It is mounted on the right, the bracket is 7/8 wide marked as “B” not the expected “V”, the adjusting bolt’s head is marked UR. The lower support that is bolted to manifold is welded in 4 spots (not stitched welded).
The wiring harness does have the off white plug that should go into the rear of the case, however it can not at the present orientation. The white plug appears to be almost new, never connected ever.
Looking at many 64 at NCRS meets I have noticed the orientation of the square connector varies, some are str up others are rotated to 3:00 position looking from rear as the JM calls for.
OK, now for the questions (about time!)
Is the date going to be a problem??
Will the rear case rotate 90 degrees so it looks correct?? And if it will should I change it?
Also note I have traced the car back to spring of 66 and the Alternator was note changed. I've owned since Aug 67
Thanks for your patience
Alan
