Re: door sticker 71
Mike----
Yes, the stickers are reproduced. I believe that M.F. Dobbins sells them, but they are fairly expensive. Just how correct or "detectable" they are I do not know. Plus, one has the problem of imprinting the VIN number on them in a manner that appears original. I think that would be a real challenge, too.
I'd recommend carefully masking off the existing sticker. In Appreciation of John Hinckley- Top

Mike
I have removed thease stickers with a razor blade by carefully cuting the paint under the sticker. When removed I put clear plastic on the back side and installed it over the new paint with a new clear overlay. I had bought a replacement but used the original as the typeing was not like the original.

Mike the VIN is made from your protecto plate on some labels at the bottom you can sometimes see the axle and carb numbers the date will be the biggest issue due to trying to find a typewriter with correct number shapes. Paul- Top

Mike that would be right if you have your protect-o-plate look at it and you would see that line below the VIN or if you have AIM you can see what should be on that line were it talks about the plate. When they stamped the label at the plant sometimes more was stamped then they wanted. Paul- Top
