    Oil filter cross reference help

I have a Puralator L20033 oil filter that I cannot for the life of me remember which car is goes to. Does anyone have a parts book with an oil filter cross reference? I have four cars that I own plus two others in extended family that I maintain. The local FLAP doesn't seem to be able to cross reference this for me.

    Thanks in advance.

My Fram catalog crosses it to a PH25 - 13/16"-16 straight thread. Lots of applications including GM and AMC. Interchangeable with AC PF-24 and PF-30.

Try the Web. Most manufacturers have online catalogs, cross-references, and buyer's guides (technical data and applications) now, and they are getting better all the time.

The Web is making paper catalogs obsolete.

      Thanks Duke

That makes it an equivalent to one that will should fit my 72 LT1. I thought that the size and shape looked too big for anything else that I might use it on.

No, it will not work for a 72 LT-1 (or any other Chevrolet small block or big block gasoline engine). The L20033 is equivalent to the PF-24. The PF-24 has many applications but, primarily, it was used for old AMC, Buick and Pontiac V-8 engine applications.

While the configuration of this filter LOOKS like a PF-25, it will not interchange. I believe that the threads are different, among other things.

The PF-24 is also applicable to Oldsmobile, particularly the 1970 350 cid engine if nothing else.

Joe is right about a PF-24 filter not being used in place of a PF-25 filter. I have experience with this. I bought a PF-25 filter and did not realize that it a PF-24 filter was in the box instead.
I started the car and backed out of the garage and noticed a big puddle of oil on the floor. Yep, the PF-24 leaked like crazy.

i think the gasket is inboard "L20033" vs the perimeter "PF25"---threads the same---since the a/c 2018 has switched to a shorter filter i have gone with an stp9100s---4x4 style "check valve" for reverse flow filter that is as tall as the older 2018 or if you will the pf35 for more capacity and filter element area

                Aha! Mystery solved?

I sold a 77 Buick Electra 225 two years ago. I would guess that this is a leftover. Regardless, I will trash this filter since no other application currently sits in my garage or driveway.

Thanks to all of you who responded.
