Is the capacitor on a 69 ti ignition coil only for

noise suppression on the radio. Mine has been cut and I want to see if I can get the ignition going now without it. Or do I need to place an order today?

It's not all that clear from the AIM, but cars with optional TI ignition didn't have a radio RF capacitor on the ignition coil...

      Jack,

Did you take your Corvette for a drive today?

        George------

The capacitor mounted on the ignition coil is for radio interference supression only. It has no other ignition system functionality, at all.

In my mind! The Suburban BB, locked into 4WD, was able to 'thrash' its way out of the driveway and into the street though... Figure a good 18-inches of snow here at 7930' overlooking Denver.

I have no desire to pick a fight with you Jack, but my 1970 with TI has a capacitor on the coil. It may not serve any purpose, and maybe should not be there, but the guys at St. Louis put it there.

                  Phil,
I understand it is for the radio. It doesn't do a D*&^ thing for the radio either. It might be for the radio in the car next to me at the stoplight, but my main point was that in my particular case it was put there by the St. Louis UAW folks in spite of the assertions that is is not required with TI.

assy line instructions say put leather conditioner on any thing with seats---same as install U69 kit and use it all---military build is the same---in fact mil specs set the standard for most all mech and elec specs for the rest of the industrial u. s.
