holley 3814

I need to know where the casting numbers are on a 3814 Holley float bowls. the holley spects show 34R 5978A for the front and 34R 5972A for the rear. Where can these numbers be found on the float bowls? Thank you in advance Dale

The casting numbers are inside the float bowls, and are probably not the currently listed part numbers. I have a secondary float bowl for a 3810 (which has the same part numbers as a 3814 for the float bowls) with a casting number of 34R-2460B, and the primary 34R-4424BR.

I think the same casting numbers were used on difference carbs, and none of my 4 have the part number on the bowl. I did get one NOS one which had the part number stamped on the box only. I have heard that some have the part number ink stamped on the outside, but you never know who did it, and I have one ink stamped from a replacement 3810 with a number different then the listed part number.

There is a 3 digit number on the bottom of the bowls which looks like a date code.

It's confusing to me also.
