Shop bay curtain separator wall materials

Want to install a wall separator curtain to section off part of my shop. Have thought of using vinyl strips available from Grainger to provide a visible area along with vinyl tarps. Am stumbling on how to hang from the ceiling to enable the curtain to be pushed back to open on the shop. Appreciate your inputs. Thanks in advance. Gary....

    Gary -

I thought about using a curtain between the garage bays too. This site http://store01.prostores.com/servlet...Shop+Curtains, has a few selections or search "Body Shop Curtains" online for more.

      Gary,
Using the heavey vinyl strips, 8" wide, to isolate stairs to second floor of garage. They work great, down stairs its 50 - up its the outside temp. Believe I purchased from Northern.

Why not look into the barn door (or garage) tracks, Grainger has them. Unside down "U" shaped with double set of wheels inside them. Wheels have bolt which one can attach something that holds the vinyl strips.

      Good luck

I just purchased a huge sheet of heavy mill plastic and made a removable door frame for when the weather breaks. Then in the spring I neatly roll it up to the ceiling and tie it off.

It's only a temporary deal until my project is finshed. My old trailer furnace can have the area toasty warm in fifteen minutes regardless the outside temps.

I took standard weight plastic sheeting and folded over the top to create two layers of plastic. Then I purchased brass grommets from a local Cdn. Tire store and inserted the grommets every 6 inches in the folded portion. The grommets are hung from standard shower curtain hooks on a cheap track with hangers (fastened to the ceiling) purchased from the same store. Fold over the bottom of the plastic and add a few minor weights to the bottom fold to keep the plastic straight. The plastic then can be moved down the track to separate the garage portion as desired. It is economical to build and keeps my Vette apart from the winter work while still warm.
