    Painting

I have a '67 conv. that is currently being painted back to the orginial Goodwood Green color. My question pertains to the underside of the hood - around the outside edges and the engine compartment lip. What is green and what is black? I wiped the underside hood edge with some thinner and can see a little bit of the orginial color, but can not tell about the engine compartment lip.

By the way when we took off the paint down to bare glass we found only one small area (about 1.5" x1") in the front right side wheel well that was repaired. Other than that no Bondo.

    Thanks, Craig

On the hood ledges on the body itself, the ledges are painted body color. Under the ledges down into the engine compartment is blacked out. There will be a smattering of black overspray on the verticle areas just across from the hood hindge. On the hood itself, the underside ledges between the edge of the hood and the support are painted body color. There is no distinct tape line because they used a loose fitting mask not tape. Just near the hood hindge the black overspray extends to the edge of the hood. From the support to the outer edge of the hood at the extreem front of the hood recieved little or no paint at all either body color or black out. Just imagine what you would get if you quickly sprayed blackout with the hood mounted on the car in the up position and you gave a damn.
