69 427 ring rear/flex plate options

I have a few teeth that are about 40% gone on my ring gear so since I have the WHOLE car apart I'm thinking that I should change it now. Is this ring gear the same as on the small blocks and what all years would this part be used for? Basicaly what I'd like to know is what all years and models could I look at to find a replacement?

I wouldn't bother, at all, to find a replacement by searching the salvage yards for a part like this. GM #471597 is what you need. It GM lists for about $115 and you should be able to buy one for about 80 bucks, or so. Also, aftermarket equivalents of this flexplate are easily obtainable if you don't mind going that route. You can buy them for between $20-50, although I'd recommend looking for more like the $50 type to give you a shot at OEM-equivalent quality.

It's totally cost-ineffective to try to change the ring gear on a flexplate.

That's good advice Joe...for $80 ist's not even worth trying to pull one from a wrecker!
