    C3 Corvette Starter 1108500??

    Hi - Looking for information to confirm correct application for a starter with part number 1108500 and code 3C 8 3. Is this correct for a 300HP 1968 Corvette? Thanks!

      I can find no record of a starter of GM #1108500. However, I don't doubt that it existed; it may have been for a truck application. It would be a starter from about the 1973-74 period and the date code you provided would be consistent with that ("3C" indicates a March, 1973 manufacturing date). In any event, I can assue you that it was never originally used on a 1968 Corvette.

              Eric,
              Your smallblock engined 68 needs a 1108361 starter if it is a manual transmission or the 1108338 if it is an automatic transmission.
