67 Ignition switch connections.

The connector on the back of my 67 ignition switch does not have a wire in the slot marked "GRD"...which to me means "Ground". The car starts and runs fine. Should that slot in the connector have a wire in it or not?? Thanks.

PS: There is also a brown wire with a black connector which is not connected to anything, hanging near the ignition switch. Should this brown wire be connected somewhere?? The car has no radio if that means anything.

Your wiring diagram shows no connection on the ground lug of the switch.

Also per your AIM... no radio no connection on the brown wire. With a radio there would be a capacitor connected here

If you don't have the radio noise suppression capacitor that mounts adjacent to the ignition switch, be sure to tape that brown wire out of the way - it's "hot" any time the key is "on", and you don't want the connector to touch anything that's grounded.

Thanks for that advice. I was browsing the other forum and came across your warning regarding that wire this morning. I took care of that brown wire this afternoon....your thoughtfulness is very much appreciated.
