I was just about done and disappointed because I only saw a hand full of mid year parts. When I found a Delco Tar top NOS battery. I asked the gentleman were he got it and he said he bought out a old service station. Well I could not get the $75.00 buck out of my pocket fast enough! Tomorrow I will fill it with acid and give it a nice slow charge and see how well it works.

Wow...I would've figured the Corvette Tax on that NOS battery would be at least $200-$300. The gentleman may need to seek a new career...he clearly is not making the grade as a "gouge'em deep" swap-meet vendor.- Top

I was thinking the same re life of this battery.
Might want to consider not filling it, cut out the bottom and replacing the "guts" with an optima type battery, much like the current repro gel batteries. That way you can have a "tar top" with indefinite lifespan.- Top
