    More 68 uniquness?

I'm doing an extentisve restoration of my 68 L71 and have done an intenstive search and comparison to other years looking for some of the smaller items.
    Here's a few items I've noted to 68s.

    1. The firewall upper cowel seems to be unique to 68s (possibly early 69 also, but haven't confirmet that)

    2. The T-Top strap hardware is unique to 68s. I haven't been able to find the small spacers that go under the T Top strap hanger brackets except at a Corvette Grave Yard. I haven't been able to find the Chrome Machine Screws that hold the hangers to the screw plates except used either.

    3. The Headlight doors are different sizes and slightly different molding.

    4. The door handles are different.

    5. The plastic grills are different.

    6. I have done extensive comparison of cars that were built around the same time frame as mine. The rivet locations are different in many instances, so the templates used either had a lot of lattitude, or they just suggested locations?

    7. The Door pin for the interior light, seems to be in different locations on the pillar of the Bird Cage on various 68s. This also means that the door pillar fiberglass pieces were molded differently, because the holes in the fiberglass is also in different locations on these pieces?

I'm sure the differences are too numerous to list, but it is interesting how different 68s built days apart can be!

      69 435hp finally rescued

I may be suffering from CRS but I vaugely remember the astro ventilation on the rear deck behind the back glass on my 68 being just a rubber flap while on all my 69's and later it was vacuum operated, but it has been over 30 years since I had a 68.

        Your recollection is correct. Terry
