My new toy arrived today from Georgia. 1965 327/365, non "knock off" knock offs, off road service exhaust, TI,3:70 posi. I'd like to thank Keith Biggers for going over the car with a fine tooth comb for me. I look forward to learning more from you folks as I work on this car over the winter months.
Well, I finally got my new toy

Re: Well, I finally got my new toy
Well my search for a 67 air coupe ended when I saw this car. I just got out of a 68 Z28 and I love the sound of that 30-30. That coupled with the car being really, really right plus having docs. Car was painted once back in the late 80s and is still very close to perfect. What's to work on? Well to start, the engine compartment needs to be cleaned up, engine painted etc. so I plan on pulling the engine and trans in a couple of weeks. The underside needs to be cleaned up as well. It looks like someone had a field day with semi-flat black and cast blast under there. If anyone has some suggestions on what to use to clean overspray off of the fiberglass pans, it would be much appreciated if you would let me know. Antenna needs attention and a few other items. My goal here is to return the car to it's former glory as it won the Duntov award back around "88". I want to be careful not to "over restore" either.- Top

Well Werner's labor rate is pretty high, so I have to make a buck so I can pay Werner. I think his labor rate is so high because his office staff is highly compensated.
Rick
PS Good looking car, will I see it at the shop this Friday?- Top

Yeah,
The office staff may be "highly compensated" but your not looking at the big picture. The office staff helped me pay for my toy and she also dresses up the place a little bit (can you imagine one of those other ugly mugs greeting you?). So I guess I get it now, you said you used some foaming spray stuff on the underside of your car but couldn't remember the name of it. That's when I was supposed to say "gee Rick, will Mr. Franklin help you remember?". Man, tough crowd.- Top

Nice car. The 327-365 is one of my favorite small blocks, right alongside the 302.
As a teenager in the summer of 68 I remember one of my neighbors had a blue 65 coupe with an L-76. I loved to hear that thing go by and me and a couple of buddies would just drool all over it anytime he parked it outside.
