Roy, I'm gonna try to bail you out here and weave this into a real thread.

I friend of mine has a 3300 mile 40th Anv he bought new but it's not a ZR1 so he wants to replace it with 93Z. He told me yesterday that Michael Jordan got a 2000 C5 (Doesn't GM just give that guy anything he is willing to be seen driving?) and a dealer in Chicago supposedly now has Mike's old Corvette, a 93 ZR1 . Says he was told it has low miles and comes with pix of Mike with the car in his basketball and baseball uniforms. Asking price is said to be $95,000. Seems, to me, that a large part of that must be the ex-Mike factor as opposed to real ZR1 value.

I have no clue if this is actually true or a modern Corvette legend. If itis Mike's car, though, I'll bet the seat's all the way back...

I can't remember if we are talking about the same car, but in a Corvette type magazine, I believe last year there was a very short article about a Corvette that the Michael J. had owned and sold or traded.

I remember seeing a picture a few years back where MJ was taking delivery of a ZR1 as part of his pay for being a spoksman for the Chicago area chevy dealers. Don't remember what year that was. Wonder if the car was ever registered in his name? Was probley owned by the dealer association and provided to MJ to drive for a year or two, then replaced with another new car.

Hi Tom:

I understand it was driven minimally and registered to him, plate "Bull 1", bought a Ferrari and drives it with the same plate. He doesn't fit too well in either.

I have seen the car on my last two visits to the Volo Auto Museum in Volo, IL. I'm not really into late models (or basketball), but I took note because I was always impressed by the ZR1 and also by the Ruby Red color scheme.

There was no price on the car to my recollection. It is in ostensibly pristine condition.
