old 70-72 judging manuals now have value

Now they been out of print so long people are ready to buy old copys on other forums.

I've given up (for now) on the latest edition of the '71 judging guide. NCRS tells me the previous edition is not available now. Is anyone interested in selling me a copy? Jim.

Can someone make the new copy happen for the good of NCRS? Time flys but I think I been waiting one and one half years at least.

Changing judging manuals is like that old saying about changing jobs..."Don't quit your old one until you are sure you have a replacement".

Ah, you have all that stuff memorized anyway...whadda'ya worrin' about. What's the market bearing anyway...A couple of hundred dollars? How about a vintage 2nd edition?...Uhmmm, Nah, I'm keeping that one too.

I never had the 70-72 manual but I begged one from a member that had a extra at the Boston regional. What I feel is we should sell the old till we get the new and not have a two year period with nothing to sell and for a year the word has been out its coming soon.

          Lyle,

I have copies of all three editions, I gave the 1st edition away to a new Corvette enthusiast awhile back. Second and third editions have greatly improved and still good references to use.

No doubt the old manuals have lots of good information. I finally begged one as I now own a 72 and a 71 LT1 both convertibles. The problem is any new 70-72 owner who has wanted A TI&JG for 70-72 the last two years has been told they waiting on the new editon. This will not help new menber/owners prepare their car for judging.

Good to hear that you're dabbling in the prior year generation. If you start to expand your inventory of parts for these cars, I'll certainly be visiting your vendor spots at Bloomington and Carlisle a lot more frequently!

When I bought my 1970-1972 JG I scanned every page including an index and saved them to My Pictures file. From a an old Paragon catalog I scanned the pages that had the correct bolts and reference legends, too. When people who don't have access to the JG or need quick access to something I attach the page or pages amd email to them.
