Here's a view you probably don't see that often; the interior of a late '65 fuel tank.
Was surprised to see that the sock is black -- I would have thought white would be a better filter media color to show plugging.
I'm pretty certain that the sender/pickup is original (I've owned the car for 18 years) and it has the proper "S" near the outside electrical terminal, along with AC made in USA. Also, note the "90 OHMS" stamped in the side of the rheostat.
Tank also has the big "A" with small "O" and "L" and "CO" stamped in the bottom (you can see the reverse imprint just forward of the pickup flange, near the sock).
So is the black sock correct ?
