I just received GM Canada documentation that my 69 conv. was originally delivered to dealer: Denis Pepin Automobiles Ltd. Ste-Foy, PQ
Has anyone ever heard of this dealership or have any information about it?
Hi have a 67 Canadian export car that was purchased in Montmagny, PQ at BLAIS automobiles LTD near Quebec. I called Canada DMV and found out that they know who all the owners are of my car but they won't give them to me for security purposes. They told me to write them a letter and they will try to forward the letter to the owners who can then contact me. I'm going to give it a try. It seems that everyone speaks french in that area of Canada.
Many documents still exist...in French...in many parts of Quebec. If you need help with the language there are many members in the Montreal(Quebec)Chapter who would be willing to help.
Rick, Thanks for responding. I would really like to find the original owner of my car as it is kind of unique. It is a 67 427/435, Ermine white with red leather interior. It has power steering, power brakes, power windows, Telescopic, shoulder harness, speed warning, bolt-on wheels, redline tires, F41 suspension, offroad exhaust, and extra coolant. The date ordered on the tank sheet is February 14, 1967 ( Valentine's Day ). I would like to find out who ordered this car with this color combination and so many options. I have the documentation from GM of Canada but would really like to find out the history on it. Canada DMV has records of all the owners but cannot give them out. I sent a letter to them asking them to forward it on to the previous owners if possible. If you or someone you know could help in finding out any information on my car it would be great!! I can supply you with any information that I have. Thanks again, Don.
The 'Canada DMV' aka Société de l'assurance automobile du Québec was in a round about polite way trying to tell you that they're not going to help, any more than the 'America DMV' can or would. Our privacy laws and bureaucratic procedures here are pretty much the same as yours.
Rick Snow and other local NCRS members- Serge Gauthier in particular- are pretty up to date on local C2s and may know of the car. I've lived here all my life and don't remember this particular one, sorry.
It is easy enough to send a few letters. Someone in the DMV might just send them out.
Hello,
I hope you can help me as I believe you may be a previous owner of my car. I currently own a 1967 Corvette 427/435, Ermine white with red leather interior.
If you can help, please feel free to call me collect at 555-555-1212 in the evenings or to write me. My address is above or email don22567@corvette.com.
Thank you very much,

Bonjour,
Merci beaucoup,
mettez 22567
Remember, Babelfish can be your friend. http://babelfish.altavista.com There may be problems in the translation, but it is a lot better than writing an English-only letter to someone who speaks a different primary language.
Amazing what babelfish or google can do. The translation does eventually get the basic meaning across, although it did equate 'feel free to call me collect' with 'be agreeable to collective liberal sensations'.
Don's name was changed to the verb 'mettez' (to put or place)
Most amazingly, it assumed that the wheels came from the town of Bolton- where Scott Sinclair lives. Maybe it's smarter than we think!
