40083 Fuel Pump Correct for Judging

I have seen two differnet 40083 fuel pump bases and am wondering which is original and correct for NCRS judging for a '65 365hp. Both have a 4 screw base, but one base is flat with an AC logo, and one has two "humps" in the base with two of the screws on a flat part on the center line of the base. Any help appreciated. I can send pictures of each if someone wants to look at them.

Let's see the pictures, there are two bases used on the 40083, one stamped steel and one die cast, with the AC logo in the die cast base. Also, what does the top of the pump look like, and the numbers?

Bill, I have 2 of these 40083 fuel pumps both with the stamped steel bottoms secured by 4 screws. If you need any pictures email me and I will be glad to send them to you if needed.

        Alan,

Are you willing to part with either of your pumps as I am looking for a correct one? If so, could you send pics to me at ddlehmann@frontiernet.net. Thanks,

        Dave

My 327/365..65' has the A/C logo cast in the bottom and a smaller one on the top of the pump. It is not a "stamped" base.
          Cast bottom has 4 screws.
Pump is grey / silver cast in color. No cad, no zinc, no gold.
          Mine is original.
          Hope this helps.

            Lane,

Do you know if your pump was the original one on the car? If so, when was your build date as I am trying to determine when they changed base types as it seems both are "correct" from others thoughts.

                Don,

Thanks so much! And yeah, that is what I am looking for! I like the look of that base better than the stamped base with "humps". Does anyone know if I buy a pump with the stamped base, can I find this AC base fairly easily, or will it be just as hard as trying to find a 40083 pump in the first place? Bottom line...I don't know if the base is specific for the 40083 pump?

The pictures provided by Don are "on the money" to my pump.
Mine is original to my knowledge. I am second owner of my 65'.
                  Build date March 18.
Long Island Corvette has rebuilt originals according to their catalog.

                  Hope this helps.
