Did the factory use any spacers behind the courtesy lamp switch to assure the hinge would brake the connection thus turning the lamp off??
Does not appear to be a judged item if I add spacer to "MB" switch?

There was no need for shims - the switch is self-adjusting. The tubular section that the center plunger rides in is a press fit in the hole in the hex nut; when it came out of the box, the tubular section was at its full extension out of the face of the nut, and the first time the door was closed after the switch was installed, the door hinge pressed the plunger and tubular section to the correct depth for the hinge travel, automatically adjusting the switch. This self-adjustment feature can be restored on a used switch by pushing the tubular section (from the threaded end of the nut) so it protrudes as it did when it was new, and closing the door will self-adjust it again.
