I am in need of a set of rear springs for my 1960 Corvette, I drive this car very hard and rough. The rear springs are getting a little weak and I have had no luck in re-arching springs in the past. I have found 2 prices on springs 1. $70 Mid America ETC And 2 $450 for Kanter and others. All are 4 leaf as best I can tell. I really would like to put on 5 leaf HD and some new gas shocks. Anybody got any experience with either price of springs or who would you recommend.

Re: C-1 Rear Springs
You can aid your old springs by installing air shocks to help take the load off your springs keeping the "original one", I did on my 55 many years ago and the 55 rides good. Using them you can decide to add or remove air pressure to level the body if you carry heavy things in the trunk or have a heavy passenger .- Top

Take Mike's advice, unless you have young kidneys you don't want 5 leaves in the springs. Just took them out of my 62 this year and replaced with a set from Muskegon Brake. World of difference in the ride and car sits at the right height. Agree with Roy also about air shocks to stiffen ride when you need it but saves wear and tear on car and you when just pleasure driving. Just my old 2 cents.
