C2 Ebay Listing: Value vs Price???

Ebay Item: 260048119084 For a novice for C2's.... Is a $143,800 for this listing on an ebay sale, and the reserve has not been met, a true "market" pricing for this type of Vette??? I understand that the market is defined by the number of buyers willing to pay a price.... but,,, is this where a car of this caliber would be sold... and for yet a higher price yet to be determined?

Interesting that every time it is judged at a chapter meet the score goes down, or am I missing something?

        Hello Bill,
        Your observations are correct in the scores. 1995 = 99.1 , 1996 = 98.1,
2006 = 96.9. The Standards have changed in the last 10 years. The judges knowledge has grown also over the past 10 years. The judging manual has been revised to todays information from 10 years ago. We had this car at the Northeast Chaper Meet in October 2006.

When more lines were added to the judging sheets the numbers on a line were less. When a judge finds an incorect item he takes one point many times if the line has 10 or 5 points. With more lines the owner loses more ones and twos which adds up to a lower total. As an owner and a judge this is the way I see the change over the years.

            Norm,
To answer your question, I believe that the car you are speaking of is worth north of 150K. The car is a REAL red 67 big block air conv. and still retains its original motor. If the car was fresher I would say the car would be worth 175K. Look at the red 435 currently listed on ebay, why does that car have a B.I.N. for 149K and a 390 car is bid higher? The answer is one is real and the other is not.
            Regards,

              Steve,

You are right--there are a lot of things wrong with that 435 car. Feb body for a late April car. AO Smith body with big block, and side pipes.
