    68 Seat Shims

Where can I obtain the seat back adjusting hardware which consists of 4 round natural finish washers just over one inch in diameter each and 4 rectangular seat-back retainer shims for my 1968?
I alreadyhave the cloth bag they go into.
    Thank you for any suggestions,
    Kurt # 26406

Sal Carbone sells a pretty nice looking set in addition to the cloth bag.

          Re: 68 Seat Shims

Is it required for judging that the seat shims have the manufacturers logo embossed on them or will shims without the logo pass judging?
I found a set (Resto Parts Outlet) for $40 but they do not have the log stamped into them and I am wondering if that is critical to get max points.
(My life is becoming a points chase)
          Thank you

Judging rules allow the seat shims to be INSTALLED (vs. in the bag) since the car 'could' have been setup that way by the delivering dealer. Once installed, any logo info is pretty darn hard to see without disassembly...

              Jack,
Thanks for the reply. I agree about the shims that are installed but I was told that I also need to have some shims in the cloth bag and certainly those would be subject to scrutiny, by the judges, for the manufacturer's logo.
Can you tell me if the point s are awarded for merely having the shims in the bag or must they have the logo as well. I am not finding shims with logos at any of the vendors I have checked.

                Re: 68 Seat Shims

I have had a few sets of original shims and have never seen a logo on them. Was the logo used only on 68's? What years had the logo and what did it look like. I have seen owners have the shims installed and the bag full also. Make the total four shims and eight washers to impress the judges. I hope 68 was the same as other years.

Who told you judges needed to see shims in a bag? Yes, they'll want to see the bag, but all mine are installed (I like the higher seat cant position) and I've never been questioned...

                    Lyle,
I cannot answer your question as this is foreign territory to me and I only learned of this shim 'logo' yesterday evening. I am trying to figure this out as well.

                      Re: 68 Seat Shims

The judging guide states that a complete set of shims and the bag must be with the car to get full credit. It doen't matter where they are located. Whenever I find an incomplete set in the bag, I check the seat bottoms.

1968 and 1969s only have four shims and four washers, not eight. I have seen some with the "S" logo but don't know if they were originals or repros.
