    C1 owners

I tried to show only a small amount of parts you can find NOS or used on e-bay under the word Cadillac , Olds, Chevy Car , Chevy Truck and others GM cars.
When I'm looking for these parts or others I don't LOOK under Corvette unless it's something I know cant be found , Mallory is a good place or Delco, use 55 NOS or use other year number NOS. Stop and think ! Where do other dealers come up with some parts they sell?. They know where to look for parts and then resell them using that wonderful word CORVETTE , that word gets you twice or more the price for the same part. When owners of 55 Corvettes call or write me I try to tell them this, like look for a truck wiper motor which is the same as a 55 Corvette ( I find them NOS) for $75.00 you just have to replace the backing unit from your old burned out unit and now you have a NOS wiper motor. I could go on and on even with C2's. Well any way I hope you all get the idea. Most parts I show are for a 55 Corvette, hay I owne a 55!! Good luck!!

    Re: C1 owners

I was thinking many of use know where to look and find parts (not under Corvette) and it would be great for guys on this forum to share that knowledge by posting it. That is if your not a dealer,or missing that part, or selling parts. I try to tell members here which are few in numbers to inform members of C1's but don't seem to get much response, may be it's to easy to buy from dealers , I look at it as a treasure hunt, many people ask what dealer did I get that part from. I think I've bought less then %1 of any part from a dealer or had a part rebuilt . I may be dreaming about asking this but years ago when I wrote many Articles about locating parts from cars , dealers read them and bought up many parts you now pay big $$ for.
    So what do members think???????????

            Re: C1 owners

Roy, You are right on as usual. When I was just a young whipper-snapper working in the Specification Dept at Chevrolet Engineering, and releasing parts via a document called a Release Notice, it becomes very clear that "most" parts were released for LOTS of different vehicle lines.....both cars and trucks. The Release Notice would have, in code.....Y, for Corvette, CK for Truck, etc,.... the usage of that given part.
BTW The only released part of a Corvette that I'm aware of that DOESN'T have a part number is the air in the tires. All of the fluids including the fuel in the gas tank has a part number. So the old adage of "the air is free" holds true.

              Roy,
I, for one, review the posts on the discussion board nearly every night with the main purpose of gaining information. I sincerely appreciate your posts and the posts of others. Many times I will print C1 information and file it away for future use. I would love to see information about locating parts.

Don't understand why people don't know this, young whipper-snappers think DEALERS but use old farts know better. Wish other old farts would share their info. But like they say money drives everything. OH well!

Art.... I have original factory air for sale...

Art... not all air is free.... I'm willing to sell the factory air in my original 34 yr old spare that has never been on the car and yes still holds THE air used to fill it!!!!! Now if I could figure a way to document it, the price I'm sure would double to triple on ebay,,, because someone would buy it.

Norm............When you find a way let me know because I have a spare tire with some factory air also. I'm on a fixed income and could use the money for food.

OK! see like I said , I just bought a NOS truck wiper motor $75.00 .Nice , pretty not rebuilt NOS in the box same as 55 Corvette just change the back unit with a Corvette unit. Or go to a Corvette dealer and pay $400.00 or more! found it under the word DELCO.

Here is the correct one for 55 to 57 NOS in a GM box.
