    1969 Bonding Strips

Need a front clip for my very original 69. I doubt I'll find any GM fiberglass out there but I did find some NOS bonding strips. Is there any benefit for fit, finish, or originality to spend the extra money for these?

    Re: 1969 Bonding Strips

Opinions may vary on this, but in my opinion, it's pointless to pay extra for NOS bonding strips if you using repro body panels. I haven't examined the repro bonding strips, but I suspect they are identical copies of the originals because they would be easier to copy than the panels themselves. Anyone wilh contrary experience on configuration and fit PLEASE correct my assumptions.

Another reason is that I can't think of any area on the 68-72 body where bonding strips are exposed enough to be seen for judging. Maybe up in the front fender/front fascia join area. Maybe if you had a really dedicated, persistent judge, he might try to eyeball the bonding strips at the tail light panel/fender joint, but it would be tough to see them well enough to see minor differences in configuration...he would have to be LOOKING FOR SOMETHING to find anything wrong...IMO.
