Re: 55 Dist. owners only
I'm calling the one on the right because of the taper on the housing to the shaft. Also, oiler, is it missing or just out of the photo?- Top

Re: 55 Dist. owners only
Roy-- I am guessing the one on the right is the first design. it looks like it has a fitting for the fuel line. The one on the left does not show the centre part of the vacuum advance but I would gueess it has no indentation for the fuel line. If I am right itis the one I have been looking for for 11 years.(if it has the right number.)- Top

Re: 55 Dist. owners only "Don"
That's not what I was showing (fuel line cut) it's the end NUT one on the left which is "original" which the right one don't have. It's so you can remove the nut and spring inside to change the sensitivity of the vacuum advance pull. Many people buy the wrong one like on the right. If you see the nut chances are your getting the original one (number a side).- Top

Re: 55 Dist. owners only
The one on the left is Original first design #1 to #100? And will always have a 1954 date, the difference is in the design from the right one, where the locking plate holds down the Dist .The second design original on the right #100? up will always have a 1955 date and not that slot design. The CARS also use the same Dist. Early and late as the Corvette but for the oiler.- Top
