It seems the internal switch in the column is broken and in the "closed" position because the buzzer sounds everytime the driver's door is opened even with the key removed. I have located a replacement from a NCRS advertiser but before it arrives I thought it would be nice to hear from someone who has made this repair. Does the R/R of this switch require any special tools or instruction? In particular I am concerned about the anti-theft or locking portion of the column. Also, while I have your attention. I am planning to R/R the fuel sending unit but have another concern. There seems to be a static charge on this car from time to time resulting in a shock when touching the door handle. Should this even be a concern and if so, how should the car be grounded to prevent a spark or worse yet, explosion? Thanks to all for this help and answers to all previous posts.
