I was out at the "Good Guys" street rod show in Scottsdale today (there are so many of these guys buried in their cars that they love that I feel SANE!) when I was approached by the current officers of the AZ SACC chapter to reprise my 1982 Restorer article about 58-62 dash pads - my response was that I would give them a copy to hand out to everyone and that, beyond that, there would be only one or two things that I would change/do differently now because Al Knoch has significantly improved the pads - some of which was based on the instructions in that article - WAS I REALLY ONLY 41 WHEN I DID THAT? Ignoring the 1982 comments from the northern regions about doing a dash pad in your driveway in March, I dug out a copy of the original article. I'll pause here for what I woud insert about what a GREAT Editor that John Amgwert was/is/
could be and let that go.
What it does bring back is that cover shot of Volume 9, #2, Fall 1982 (where the dash pad article appeared) has a picture of Don & Bonnie LaRue - then of Virginia. Don & I had touched base after that on extremetly late 65's with A/C, optional motors, and TI's and that I suddenly realized that I was either not paying attention or that it was WAY TOO LONG since I had heard/seen any mention of Don.
Who can help?
- who can help? Thanks
