    66 pulley numbers

Can anyone point me to a book or website that list Corvette pulley numbers. I trying to check and make sure I've got all the correct pulleys on my 66 L79 Corvette.

    Re: 66 L79 pulley numbers

Brian - Please advise on the configuration options of our L79.

Also please note that folks have discussed this one numerous times on the DB and so far there is "some" disagreement between what pulleys came on the 66 and 67 L79 Corvette engines originally and what the Judging Manuals indicate, so check the archives.

Unfortunately, the 66 (and 67) Corvette Assembly Instruction Manual (AIM) has only 2 sheets (pages) specific to the L79 on one of them, SHEET A2 is the NON-ILLUSTRATED PARTS, but there is some good news because SHEET A1, calls out the crankshaft pulley, Item 3, p/n 3858533, and original L79s have this pulley and the numbers are stamped on it.

Also, to add to the question on pulleys, the AIM has a page BELT ROUTING, UPC 6, SHEET A4 and indicates V-8 ENGINES 327. There are those who interpret this sheet to apply to all 327 engines, i.e. the base 327 engines and the L79s and those who interpret this sheet to only apply to the base 327 engines because the "captive" belt that is know to have been on original 66 and 67 L79 engines without any options and shown in St Louis Corvette Plant photos of the L79 engine drop is not describe on the BELT ROUTING sheet. You will note that the "captive" belt is shown on UPC6, SHEET A5 for the 427 engines.

      Re: 66 L79 pulley numbers

I have most of the '66 - '67 SB engine pulleys except the 3790356 base K19 W/P. The alternator and P/S small block pulleys will probably follow. I agree with Pete and I think the N40 (UPC C60 & L79) page labels the pulleys incorrectly. The K19 (A.I.R.) option makes the L79 setup more complicated.

      This is what I have listed for L79's;

      CS 3858533
      W/P 3770245

      CS 3850838 with C60
      W/P 3890419

      CS 3858533 with N40
      W/P 3770245
      P/S 3834720

      CS 3850838 with C60 - N40
      P/S 3751232 Add on
      W/P 3890419
      P/S 3770509
