This afternoon, I was getting ready to mount my 65 sb bell housing and noticed wear on it's ball stud. There is a circular groove worn in. Also, my clutch fork has 2 grooves, one on each side of the fork where the throwout bearing rides, probably a seized throwout bearing in the past. I never saw this car run before I tore her apart. Anyway, should I order from Paragon or does GM still make these parts. My ball stud is 1 1/2" long total length. That ball stud is going to be a B ch to remove. Tried removal and bent my allen wrench. So out comes the Kroil. I think I could fill the grooves of the fork by using my Lincoln wire feed and grinding back down. Just need to keep the heat away from the spring. Thanks Dick Gutman

The ball stud is GM #3729000 and it's still available from GM. Your old one WILL be a bear to remove. I think you can try the Kroil until the cows come home and you're going to get nowhere. You'll probably have to use heat and heat the area SURROUNDING the stud until the stud loosens. A propane torch will do it, so I wouldn't use anything hotter.
The fork is GM #3887177 and it's still available from GM. This is actually the 66-81 fork and it is used for SERVICE of 64-65. It may be configured slightly differently from your original (assuming that the one in your car now is original to the car), but it should work ok. It may slightly affect clutch adjustment, however. In Appreciation of John Hinckley- Top

I can't tell you much about their shipping speed since I'be not bought a lot from them to date. However, you've got to figure about a 3-7 days for them to get the part from GMSPO, another day or 2 to ship, and then UPS time from them to you.In Appreciation of John Hinckley- Top
