Rochester Carb

Anyone know of a great Carb shop to work over a 78 Rochester 4 barrel Carburetor.

I purchased a '78 L-82 that had only 3 miles on the Vette and the car has sat for 22 years. Ran a cleaner thru it but the idle still isn't they way it should be.

I am showing the Vette at NCRS so I want to keep it original but get it reworked.

I live in NJ.

Jerry Luck Motorsports seems to be the guy that most folks on this board have had good experiences with relative to Rochester/Holley rebuilds. I don't have his number handy, but I'm sure that you can find it in the archives; it's been mentioned many times here.

Notwithstanding this, your carburetor probably only requires installation of a minor rebuild kit and a float. If you have any mechanical ability, you can install these without too much trouble. No special tools, at all, are required. Rochester Q-Jets seem more intimidating to overhaul than they actually are. Use the Chevrolet Service Manual or Doug Roe's Rochester Carburetor Manual as a reference.
